"Non-consensual intimate imagery is not a content moderation problem.
It is abuse. We treat it that way."

At TakeDex, NCII cases receive dedicated handling — faster review, prioritized filing, and direct human oversight. We don't just queue your case alongside regular DMCA requests. We escalate. We follow up. We keep going until the content is off the internet.

What you need to know

You don't have to face this alone

What TakeDex does

  • Files DMCA and platform-specific removal notices on every site hosting your content
  • Submits image hashes to StopNCII.org (with your consent) so Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap, and other partner platforms can block the image from being uploaded anywhere in their networks
  • Monitors for re-uploads and files again automatically
  • Uses FaceMatch to find content posted under different names or with metadata stripped
  • Escalates to law enforcement cooperatively where required by law
  • Helps you find legal support and victim advocates in your area

What to know before starting

  • You are never required to provide, upload, or re-view the content itself — URLs and descriptions are enough
  • Platform compliance varies — some respond within hours, others take longer; we follow up on every case
  • Content removed today may be re-uploaded. Ongoing monitoring catches this and re-files automatically
  • TakeDex acts as your agent — your legal name does not appear on notices unless you choose otherwise
  • All your personal information and case details are held in strict confidence

We support you — and help you find legal help nearby

Removing the content is only part of getting your life back. Beyond takedowns, our team helps connect you with qualified lawyers, victim advocates, and support services local to your country, state, or region — so you have real people in your corner, not just notices. Just ask, and we'll point you to the right help near you.

Legal protections

The law is on your side

Multiple laws across the US and Europe give you the right to have this content removed. Here are the key ones we invoke on your behalf.

Applicable law

TAKE IT DOWN Act — 2025
Signed into federal law May 19, 2025. Requires online platforms to remove non-consensual intimate images — including AI-generated deepfakes — within 48 hours of a verified request. Applies to all U.S. platforms. TakeDex files compliant TAKE IT DOWN notices on your behalf and tracks every platform's response window.
Digital Services Act — EU DSA
The EU's Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) requires platforms operating in the European Union to remove illegal content — including NCII, which is illegal under most EU member state laws — expeditiously upon notice. TakeDex files DSA-compliant notices in parallel with DMCA filings for EU-based platforms and their EU users.
DMCA § 512
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act provides an established removal mechanism that major platforms are legally required to honor. TakeDex files § 512(c) notices as an additional parallel avenue, especially for platforms not yet subject to the TAKE IT DOWN Act or DSA.
EU Directive 2024/1385 — Violence Against Women
Adopted May 2024, this is the first EU-wide law to criminalize the non-consensual sharing of intimate images — including AI-generated or manipulated deepfakes. All EU member states must bring it into national law by June 2027, with several already ahead. TakeDex cites these protections when escalating to EU platforms and authorities.
GDPR — Right to Erasure (Art. 17)
Under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, an intimate image of you is personal data — and an image shared without consent has no lawful basis to be processed. We invoke your right to erasure to compel platforms and search engines operating in Europe to delete the content and de-index it.
UK Online Safety Act — 2023
Sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images without consent is a criminal offence in the UK, and platforms have a legal duty to remove this content. TakeDex files intimate-image-abuse notices against UK-facing platforms and references these duties to force action.
Support resources

You are not alone — help is available

TakeDex is a removal service, not a crisis counseling organization. These independent resources across the US and Europe offer additional support and reporting options.

FBI — Report online exploitation

Sharing intimate images without consent, and sextortion, are federal crimes. The FBI investigates these cases. File a confidential report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) or call the FBI directly. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Hash-matching prevention
StopNCII

StopNCII.org lets you create a hash (a digital fingerprint) of an image without uploading the image itself. Partner platforms — including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap, and others — use that hash to prevent the image from being uploaded anywhere on their networks. TakeDex submits hashes to StopNCII with your consent as part of every NCII case.
